SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

From the outset, IM Properties has been committed to delivering lasting environmental enhancements at Peddimore.

Our green and sustainable commitments include:

  • The planting of over 110 semi-mature trees, alongside approximately 300 native extra heady standard trees, almost 10,000 mature standard trees and approximately 110,000 other native forestry crops.
  • Achieving 30% carbon reduction through renewable and low carbon technologies. This includes the use of air source heat pumps, solar photovoltaic panels and Smart Grid technology.
  • Targeting a 36 per cent reduction in carbon emissions across the whole of the site, which will result in a decrease of 1,361 tonnes of carbon per year.
  • Ensuring that all buildings at Peddimore will be designed and built to achieve a BREEAM Excellent rating (2014 standard) and EPC ‘A’ rating - the highest level of carbon reduction and energy efficiency.
  • Achieving 40% water reduction target for each building.
  • Allocating £20,000 of funding to contribute to local fuel poverty initiatives.
  • Delivering a new wrap around 4.3km walking and cycling route which provides employees and local people with opportunities for recreation and wellbeing.

Peddimore helped to fund the new Sutton Connect Green Travel District, which promotes sustainable and active travel for residents, workers and visitors in Sutton Walmley, Minworth, Reddicap and the surrounding area.

We have delivered a new footbridge over the A38 which will improve links for people to walk, wheel or cycle for local journeys. The 67A bus service between Birmingham city centre and Peddimore has been launched, which provides connections with Erdington and Castle Vale.

Supporting Witton Lodge Community Association

Social value image

Witton Lodge Community Association was one of four local organisations that we have partnered with to help deliver lasting social value for the local community.

IM Properties supported the Association’s Eco Hub at Witton Lakes with pro-bono, professional team advice. The Hub is open daily and includes a community orchard, “Energy Café”, plus wellbeing activities such as Tai Chi.
