ABOUT PEDDIMORE
Peddimore is a flagship development which has become an important economic asset for Birmingham, the Royal Town of Sutton Coldfield and the wider Midlands region.
The site currently employs approximately 3,000 people during peak periods and is included in Birmingham City Council’s Development Plan.
IM Properties was appointed Birmingham City Council’s development partner for the first phase of Peddimore following an international competition. Outline planning permission for the site was secured in 2019 following a programme of extensive community engagement and public consultation.
Construction began in 2021 which saw the delivery of key infrastructure including new internal spine roads and a main access roundabout linking the site to the A38.
Over 120,000 tree species have been planted across the wider site as part of the creation of extensive and accessible new green infrastructure and attractive landscaping. As part of this, a wrap around 4.3km walking and cycling route has been created, providing employees and local people with opportunities for recreation and wellbeing.
The first employment use on the site began in 2023, with the opening of a 2.3 million square feet, state-of-the-art fulfilment centre for Amazon.
International insulation manufacturer Rockwool has recently purchased 114 acres of land from Birmingham City Council to build their new manufacturing hub within Development Zone 2, which does not therefore form part of IM Properties’ landholding at Peddimore.
